Jerobe Santana Talavera (15-1, 5Ko’s)
Jerobe Santana Talavera, was born and raised in Las Palmas, Islas Canarias, Spain where football (soccer) is the favorite pastime. He was playing football since he was 8 years old but he soon outgrew the sport and began looking for another sport to challenge himself. At age 15, he decided that sport would be the art that we call the “Sweet Science”. After only a month and a half of training, Jerobe would have his first amateur fight and never looked back. By 17, he went on to win the Bronze medal in the Youth National Championship. Two years after that accomplishment, he would go on to win the Silver medal in the Elite National Championship. He built a compelling amateur record that consisted of 43 wins with only 5 defeats and 1 draw. At age 21, Jerobe joined the pro ranks scoring an incredible first round Ko. The two-time WBC World Youth champion built an impressive 15-0 record before facing the tough Marvin Petit of France for the vacant European title. Facing his first defeat in what was a close decision, Jerobe is now looking for the bigger names his division has to offer. Now under the guidance of Evander Holyfield’s Sports & Entertainment, Jerobe will have every opportunity to become a name here in the U.S.
